Event: Austin, TX Science and Engineering Festival. Oct. 2-24, 2010
Organized by the Mexican American Engineers and Scientists organization, the Austin, Texas Science and Engineering Festival and its multiple events will showcase the science and technology of Texas. It will culminate in a two-day Expo Expo at the Austin Convention Center with over 200 exhibits of hands-on, fun science and engineering activities to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Astrobiology Magazine is a NASA-sponsored online popular science magazine, with stories that profile current exciting news across the wide, interdisciplinary field of astrobiology — the study of life in the universe. The magazine publishes new stories daily, and, in addition to a large article archive, offers a catalogue of podcasts, notes from the field, blogs, and other types of multimedia.
NASA’s Learning Environments and Research Network and the Georgia Institute of Technology have teamed up to create the 
NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day Website is a helpful resource originated, written, coordinated, and edited since 1995 by Robert Nemiroff and Jerry Bonnell. The APOD archive contains the largest collection of annotated astronomical images on the internet.
Teachers and students across the country have been writing in with comments on eGFI — telling us what they most enjoy, and how they put the magazine and Website to use. We’re delighted with the feedback.
Science teachers are invited to demonstrate their best lesson on video, with the chance to win cash and other prizes, as well as the opportunity to have their work shown on the USA Science and Engineering Festival Site and on ENGINEERING.com. Submission deadline: October 21, 2010.

The USA Science & Engineering Festival will be the United States’ first national science and engineering festival. The series of events will culminate in a two-day Expo on the National Mall that will give over 500 science & engineering organizations from all over the country the opportunity to present themselves with a hands-on, fun science activity to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
