Summit: Adventures of the Mind

Adventures of the Mind, a mentoring summit, brings together 150 of the nation’s top students and 50 accomplished mentors, who will share their life stories with the Junior Achievers. They will learn first-hand that excellence is not only possible, but the path to it lies right in front of them. The 2011 summit is at the University of Montana, Missoula, June 22-26, 2011.

Google has partnered with NASA, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), National Geographic, Scientific American, and LEGO to create a science fair that is intended to be open, inclusive, and global.
The College of Southern Maryland’s 3rd Annual Youth in Technology Summit, a day complete with technology demonstrations, STEM workshops, building trades, college and technical school planning, career development, networking, and more, will be held on November 13, 2010.
Organized by the Mexican American Engineers and Scientists organization, the Austin, Texas Science and Engineering Festival and its multiple events will showcase the science and technology of Texas. It will culminate in a two-day Expo Expo at the Austin Convention Center with over 200 exhibits of hands-on, fun science and engineering activities to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
The 5th annual Future Focus EXPO, hosted by Region 2000 Technology Council, is a career exploration event for middle school and high school students. Career and educational opportunities will be offered from more than 50 area companies. Demonstrations and hands-on activities will also be on hand, and there are numerous give-aways and prizes.
Interact with Smithsonian scientists, curators, and educators in this free, two-day online conference April 28-29. In live presentations, demonstrations, and moderated forums, teachers, students, and anyone interested can use critical thinking skills to address problems in science, history, arts, and culture.
The National Society of Black Engineers Pre-College Initiative (PCI) Program is designed to stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields and to encourage students in grades K–12 to attend college and pursue technical degrees. Student members have access to scholarships, a national conference, Bridge magazine, and other benefits. The website also provides downloadable curriculum units.
Participants of this free, one-day online conference join in interactive discussions on the Apollo program and its historical impact. Teachers are invited to explore ways to teach the use of primary source materials. All sessions will be archived and available for future replay.
