MATEThe Marine Advanced Technology Education Center (MATE) Center coordinates an international student ROV competition and a network of regional ROV contests that take place across the world. BESTBEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) is a middle through high school robotics competition whose mission is to inspire students to pursue careers fields. BEST Inc. itself is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that licenses the annual competition to sites (“hubs”) around the U.S. Twenty-four colleges and universities in addition to 12 independent groups operate BEST hubs in their communities/regions.
