Nominate a great middle or high school STEM teacher for a $2,000 award, introduce a girl to engineering, or coach a Future City team. National Engineers Week is Feb. 22 – 28, 2015 and there are plenty of local events and hands-on activities to raise awareness of what engineers do and how their work makes the world a healthier, safer place.

The Anchorage National Engineer’s Week Student Competitions are supported by the UAA School of Engineering and engineers from south central Alaska. The event will be held at the University of Alaska Anchorage Campus Sat., Feb. 20, 2010, for students, grades 1-12. Students are invited to compete in events ranging from the egg drop to the floatable moatable.

The Triton Engineering Student Council at the University of California, San Diego, celebrates E-Week with Enspire, a student-run outreach event designed to introduce middle school students to university-level engineering. On Wed., Feb. 17th, approximately 400 students will be shown around labs and introduced to engineering through hands-on projects, and will participate and compete in a design competition.
