Event: E-Week at UC San Diego, Feb. 17

egames09_championsThe Triton Engineering Student Council

Jacobs School of Engineering
University of California, San Diego

Celebrates E-Week

with Enspire, a program for Middle School Students

Date: Wed., February 17
Location: Price Center West Ballroom | 8:00am – 3:00pm

Enspire is a student-run outreach event designed to introduce middle school students to university-level engineering. Although students are often exposed to science and math, they rarely encounter engineering and may not understand what it means to be an engineer. This has led to a decreased number of engineers graduating in the US, while the number of engineers overseas is increasing. Enspire is an effort to reduce this shortage by increasing the awareness of engineering in San Diego youths.

On Wednesday, February 17th, approximately 400 students will be shown around labs and introduced to engineering through hands-on projects. The students will also participate and compete in a design competition inside the Price Center Ballroom. The students will be on campus from 8:00am – 1:30pm.

Please check the Triton Engineering Student Council Website for more information.
