PROGRAM: STEM-Up Initiative, East L.A., CA

The STEM-Up Initiative, based in the Boyle Heights area of East Los Angeles, is designed to integrate STEM career pathways into schools and local communities. STEM-Up aims to connect 80,000 residents to the surrounding STEM Community, consisting of institutions of higher learning, government agencies, corporations and other organizations.

Brookhaven Nt’l Lab, K-6 Science Fair, NY, May 1, 2010

Over 500 students grades K-6 from 500 Suffolk County, NY, schools take part every year in Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Elementary School Science Fair. Projects include charts, experiments, demos, diagrams, and collections with a scientific objective. Registration deadline: April 16, 2010. Fair date: Sat., May 1, 2010.
