Hands-on projects and visits with federal scientists and engineers are among the highlights of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s summer institute for middle school teachers, which takes place July 10 to 21, 2017 at NIST’s headquarters in Gaithersburg, Md. Participants will receive a $2,000 stipend and up to $2,000 to cover travel and lodging expenses. Apply by March 3, 2017.

The Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy is a five-day, all-expenses-paid professional development program for third- through fifth-grade teachers designed to help inspire students to pursue careers in science and math. The fun, hands-on activities are created and led by two of the nation’s leading teacher-training organizations, Math Solutions Professional Development and the National Science Teachers Association.
