The USA Science & Engineering Festival will be the United States’ first national science and engineering festival. The series of events will culminate in a two-day Expo on the National Mall that will give over 500 science & engineering organizations from all over the country the opportunity to present themselves with a hands-on, fun science activity to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

The Teaching with Contests website lists various contests suitable for use in the classroom with students, as well as competitions geared to educators. It features contests and programs that have a primary goal of education, such as the Audubon Photography Contest, PBS Design Squad Trash to Treasure Contest, and The Ron Clark Academy’s Great American Teacher Awards.

Several contests are being planned to be held at the Science Museum of Virginia on Sunday Feb. 28, 2010, during Career Day in conjunction with Engineers Week. As in years past, contests will include an egg drop contest and a bridge building contest.
