Everyone is invited to join the forty 2010 Intel Science Talent Search finalists, who will display and present their research at the National Academy of Sciences, Sunday, March 14, 2010, 1 – 4 pm, at the Great Hall of the National Academy of Sciences, in Washington, D.C. The display is intended to be a motivating experience for students, their teachers, parents, and the public.

STEMming Out to Change the World. March 10, 2010, 5 – 8:15 pm at Mercy High School, Baltimore, MD. Hosted by the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland and sponsored by the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center, this event gives girls and women the opportunity to talk with professionals in the fields of science and technology. Cost is $5 per person or two food items for the Girl Scouts’ Harvest for the Hungry Campaign. Reservations are required.

The University of Texas at Austin will host its 11th annual “Explore UT, The Biggest Open House in Texas!” from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 6. More than 50,000 visitors are expected to participate in a day of free activities, performances, demonstrations and lectures. The Cockrell School of Engineering will be hosting a variety of hands-on activities, lectures, and displays. Visitors will see the latest in solar powered vehicles, learn about the reverse engineering of toys, find out how computers really work, and experience biomedical engineering and how engineering is involved in the making of artificial body parts.

KidsQuest Children’s Museum joins NanoDays, the nationwide celebration of nanoscale science.
