Boise State University is hosting two summer engineering camps, for students grades 8 and 9, June 6-8, and for girls grades 9 – 10, June 11-12. Students who will use hands-on activities and projects involving self discovery, cooperative learning, critical thinking, and problem solving. Application deadline: May 1.

Fifth grade girls at the North Belmont Elementary School in North Carolina are getting a chance to hone their math and science skills with the help of some very special tutors. Each girl is matched with a woman STEM major from nearby Belmont Abbey College, who will act as her mentor.

STEMming Out to Change the World. March 10, 2010, 5 – 8:15 pm at Mercy High School, Baltimore, MD. Hosted by the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland and sponsored by the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center, this event gives girls and women the opportunity to talk with professionals in the fields of science and technology. The SWE Weekend of Engineering is a fun weekend of exploration for high school women held each fall and spring semester and sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers. The program, which begins on a Saturday morning and ends on a Sunday afternoon, is an opportunity to learn about engineering as well as get a taste for college life KU Style.
