NSF Videos Hail a Green Revolution
What better way to lure visually-centric kids to science than with videos that are brief, fast-paced, and edgy? That seems to be the National Science Foundation’s thinking. “The Science of Speed” made a debut earlier this year. Now, here comes an arresting new series on green technology.
The Green Revolution videos aim to instill in students an appreciation for science and engineering, while also promoting the benefits of green power. Each focuses on engineers and scientists who develop and improve the use of clean energy sources, new fuels, and other energy-related technologies. Hot topics include the Smart Grid, batteries, energy from biomass, and city cars. The videos also explain the basic science behind each research project. They are, says the NSF, “designed to educate and amaze” students.
