Engineering Discovery Days, April 23 and 24, continues the tradition of sharing the work of the College of Engineering, U. Washington, with students, teachers and families. While both days are free and open to all, each day has a primary focus. Registration is required for groups of 10 or more and for groups arriving in buses.

Women in Aviation & Space, held at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, outside Washington, DC, Saturday, March 13, highlights the many achievements of women in science, technology, and aerospace. Visitors will learn about the accomplishments of Amelia Earhart , the Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASPs), astronaut Sally Ride, and women who are currently contributing to aviation, science, technology, and space exploration. Also, participate in book signings, story time, and fun and educational hands-on activities throughout the Museum. Admission: Free, Parking $15

The University of Texas at Austin will host its 11th annual “Explore UT, The Biggest Open House in Texas!” from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 6. More than 50,000 visitors are expected to participate in a day of free activities, performances, demonstrations and lectures. The Cockrell School of Engineering will be hosting a variety of hands-on activities, lectures, and displays. Visitors will see the latest in solar powered vehicles, learn about the reverse engineering of toys, find out how computers really work, and experience biomedical engineering and how engineering is involved in the making of artificial body parts.
