Summit: Adventures of the Mind
When: June 22-26, 2011, Where: University of Montana, Missoula
Adventures of the Mind, a mentoring summit, brings together 150 of the nation’s top students and 50 accomplished mentors: artists, astronauts, athletes, cancer warriors, climate change experts, paleontologists, entrepreneurs, inventors, Nobel laureates, playwrights, poets, poker players, programmers, public servants, Pulitzer Prize winners, scholars, and writers. The mentors will share their life stories with the Junior Achievers inducted into the Adventures class of 2011. They will learn first-hand that excellence is not only possible, but that the path to it lies right in front of them.
The four days in Missoula are designed to be educational, engaging, and inspiring to the young achievers. The Student Achievement Advisory Council, Adventures of the Mind founder Victoria Gray, and our hosts, Dennis and Phyllis Washington, welcome this extraordinary group of individuals to “the last best place” in Montana. The gathering includes teens who are Presidential Scholars, National Poetry Slam Champions, Science Fair finalists, World Class Musicians, and Champion Athletes.
