Website: LOC’s Wise Guide Portal
Wise Guide of The Library of Congress introduces the numerous resources available from the world’s largest library.
Refreshed monthly, the Wise Guide offers links to the best of the Library’s materials, with features drawn from items within a collection, database, reading room, or other areas of the Library’s holdings. The Guide demonstrates that LOC is “more than a library,” with material that range from prints, photographs, films, audio recordings, maps, manuscripts, and digital offering to — of course — books. LOC also sponsors performances, lectures, film screenings, and poetry readings. The Guide encourages users to explore the millions of items available at this renowned national library.
Teachers may also wish to visit LOC’s teacher site, with access to primary source material, lesson plans, and other helpful materials for the classroom.
