Website: Tufts U. Bridge Library
The physical bridge models of Tufts Bridge Library are used for outreach in Massachusetts classrooms, grades 1-6. The working models demonstrate different types of bridge design, architecture, and construction methods as they are assembled by grade school students in a way that simulates the actual construction process.
The library of bridge models foster outreach to schools, interest in K-12 education by current college students, and awareness of architecture and design in our communities.
The online Tufts Bridge Library also offers excellent resources, including a list, description, and images of different bridge types, a PowerPoint Presentation, several classroom activities and games, as well as links to other online bridge resources and programs.
