The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) has put together a public/private partnership to develop ways of engaging elementary, middle, and high school students in engineering. Participants will learn about innovative, hands-on, project-based engineering at three events during National Science Teachers Association regional conferences.

The Department of Defense’s National Defense Education Program has a number of different services and programs available to teachers and students. The website offers online videos, a search engine for local labs, news, teacher resources, and more. It is divided up into portals for scientists/engineers, teachers, and students respectively.

In respect to the importance of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education to the future economic well-being of the nation, and the declining numbers of students (US citizens) choosing STEM professions, the Department of Defense (DOD) through the National Defense Education Program (NDEP) has initiated programs to develop and implement strategies to further enhance STEM education efforts in various geographic areas across our nation.
