BioEnergy Workshop for STEM Teachers
Biofuels, like the switchgrass planted in the National Arboretum’s “Power Garden” in the photo, and other interdisciplinary energy topics are the subject of a free “train the trainer” workshop for STEM teachers sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Bioenergy and Bioproducts Education Program.
Held in central New York near the Corning Glass Museum and the Finger Lakes, the three-day workshop is open to pre-service or in-service science, technology, engineering, math, and agriculture teachers throughout the United States who aspire to be leaders in renewable bioenergy education in their school districts. The program features hands-on activities, field trips to bio-based industries, research-based teaching materials, and networking opportunities with world-class researchers.
