Website: National Science Resources Center
The National Science Resources Center (NSRC) was established in 1985 by the Smithsonian Institution and the National Academies. Its mission is to improve the learning and teaching of science for all students in the United States and throughout the world. It provides listings of regional science centers, museums, science websites and other resources; information on how to participate in programs to improve science education; and NSRC internships.
Their Teacher Resources page provides a number of tools and materials, including publications, professional development, and helpful websites and blogs. Their Leadership and Assistance for Science Education Reform (LASER) Division also helps enact change in K-12 science education through partnerships with K–12 education, government, non-profits, business and industry, universities, and other community leaders. NSRC provides education news, as well.
NSRC is committed to establishing effective science programs for all students by employing strategies that are informed by research, are based on best practices, and leverage change through the development of strategic partnerships.
