Thor-Inspired STEM Contest
Portman,Marvel Comics, and Underwriters Lab are teaming up to inspire high school girls to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The Ultimate Mentor Adventure connects girls 14 and up with successful women in STEM careers; after interviewing the women about how they became engineers or scientists, the students create a five-minute unedited video talking about how they’re like Jane Foster, why they want to work in a STEM field, and what they plan to do to .
Winners and their guardians will be flown to Hollywood for the Thor movie’s November 3 premiere. The week-long visit includes taking in such STEM sites as Disneyland and Dolby studios.
