SEMS Middle & High School Outreach Programs at Robert Morris University

SEMSWe believe students get excited about careers in through interaction and hands-on demonstrations. With that in mind, The School of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (SEMS) at RMU continues to host Saturday workshops on an on-going basis during the fall and spring for middle and high school students. The workshops involve all three disciplines and some of the topics include Robotics with Lego Mindstorms, Modern Lab Instrumentation, Perfume Science, and ZOOB Mania.

VTVirginia Tech’s College of Engineering invites you to participate in a program called C-Tech² – Computers and Technology at Virginia Tech. A primary focus of the program is to help develop and sustain the interests of women in engineering and the sciences. The program allows you to explore applications of engineering, math, and science in a way that is fun and exciting. You will spend the majority of your time involved in hands-on activities designed to increase your interest in and knowledge of applications of engineering, math, and science to real world situations. The target population for the program is rising junior and senior high school girls.

MESAMESA, which stands for Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement, enables educationally disadvantaged students to prepare for and graduate from a four-year college or university with a math-based degree in areas such as engineering, the sciences, computer science, and mathematics. The California State University, Fresno MESA Schools Program was established in 1980. The overall goal of the MESA Schools Program at California State University, Fresno is to motivate and prepare in disadvantaged students, especially those from underserved population, with the knowledge and skills that will enhance their interest and prepare them for professions requiring degrees in engineering, and other mathematics and science-based fields.
