Lottery deadline: August 15, 2020
Would you like to involve your STEM students in rigorous research and top-level competions – but don’t know how to begin?
The Society for Science & the Public’s annual research teachers conference is for you!
Each year, the host of America’s oldest and most prestigious STEM competitions – including the Regeneron Science Talent Search – selects science research teachers via lottery for a weekend of sharing best practices and troubleshooting challenges involved in leading students in science research. Teachers of all experience levels are welcome to enter the lottery for this peer-led professional development opportunity.
Signing up for the lottery does not obligate you to attend – if invited, anyone may decline with no penalty. If the conference takes place virtually, attending will not prevent future eligibility to attend in person. Signing up provides eligibility for year-round opportunities from the Society, so all high school teachers who have interest in student research should sign up!
High School Research Teachers Conference
This year’s conference will take place October 2-4, 2020. The conference will most likely take place virtually, but an in-person gathering of some size is still a possibility. Enter the High School Lottery!
Middle School Research Teachers Conference
The Middle School Research Teachers Conference is the middle school version of the high school conference described above. This year’s conference will take place virtually September 11-13, 2020. Participating will not count as an in-person attendance and attendees will be eligible to attend in future years. Enter the Middle School Lottery!
Both lotteries will close on August 15, 2020. Please contact teachers@societyforscience.org with any questions.
