Outreach: Purdue College of Science
Purdue University’s College of Science K-12 Outreach program is designed to increase interest and achievement in science and mathematics at the pre-college level. The program provides K-12 science and mathematics professional development programs for teachers, forms long term partnerships with school districts, and presents activities for students. It also travels to Indiana schools and provides curricular programs, laboratory equipment, and other activities aimed at the improvement of science and math education.
Outreach coordinators act as resources and facilitators, establishing cooperative relationships with elementary and secondary schools to bring about changes in the quality of education. The programs link the expertise of the College of Science faculty with students, teachers, parents, schools, and school systems through collaborative interactions.
