Is Rote Memorization Underrated?
“Drill-‘n-kill” is among the catchphrases educators generally despise. Indeed, “rote memorization” sounds terrifically unpleasant. According to the Random House dictionary, it means to learn something “from memory, without thought of the meaning; in a mechanical way.”

The Hechinger Report’s Justin Snider argues: yes, you can.
