Awesome Girls: Girl Scout STEM Festival

There’s no better way to inspire girls to make a difference than to engage them in real-world, hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities.

The Girl Scouts, with the generous support of AT&T, have put together more than 30 virtual experiences for girls – both Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts – in kindergarten through 12th grade and their families.

The National Girl Scout STEM Festival lineup ranges from exploring space, coding apps, and designing (and racing) cars to learning about the science behind cheerleading and Broadway shows. Virtual booths will offer live chat time, inspiring videos, and fun downloads.

Sample topics and breakout sessions include:

  • Automotive engineering
  • Broadway tech
  • Career Exploration
  • Citizen Science
  • Coding
  • Cybersecurity
  • Design thinking
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Natural sciences
  • Robotics
  • Space Science
  • Taking action with STEM
  • Plus: the science behind Broadway shows, cheerleading, social media, and more!

In addition, girls can choose from a wide range of experiences that include:

  • Hands-on activities from Girl Scout badges and Journeys
  • Behind-the-scenes presentations (followed by Q&A) inviting girls to explore the exciting worlds of Broadway, the FBI, NASA, and Instagram
  • Expo booths where girls can chat with exhibitors, watch videos, and download materials
  • Group challenges
  • Giveaways
  • Limited-edition patch

There will be activities for girls from kindergarten through 12th grade — and you don’t have to be a Girl Scout to join the fun! Families, parents, and caregivers are encouraged and welcomed to join in the fun, too!

Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, April 9.

Note: For security purposes, an e-mail address can be used only once. If a parent or caregiver has two girls in different grade levels, they will need to register using a different e-mail address for each child. Volunteers who wish to do the STEM Festival as a virtual Troop activity, please have parents or caregivers register their girls for the event.
