Find Your Green Career Path
America’s “green economy” is growing, and that means new career opportunities in sustainability, construction, design, engineering and a variety of other areas.
It’s hard for young people to pursue pathways they don’t know about, however. To help them discover their talents and boost STEM literacy, California’s Pacific Gas & Electric Company has created Green360, a set of curricular resources that include a free green-careers pathway online course aligned to Common Core standards, interests survey, blog, and career coaching for high school and college students.
Not sure what you want to do when you grow up? The Green360 Career Catalyst offers a self-assessment inventory that lets students discover their interests and personal style, then use the results to find relevant jobs and professional pathways. They also can Explore the jobs database and compose “Changemaker Statements” for use on applications and during interviews.
A great tool for after-school programs and community groups as well as school guidance counselors.
