Engineering Fair: Livermore Nat’l Lab. March 30-April 2
Dates: March 30 — April 2, 2010; Location: Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Avenue, Livermore, California. Level: Middle and High School students and their families.
Make plans to join hundreds of students, their families, and scientists and engineers at the upcoming the Tri-Valley Science and Engineering Fair (TVSEF), in Livermore, California. Sponsored by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the fair seeks to stimulate interest in science and technology among middle and high school students from public, private, and parochial schools within the Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Sunol school districts.
With the philosophy that students learn science by doing science, the Fair provides a forum for students to present their work and interact with scientists in their field, receiving feedback on their efforts. Students are awarded scholarships, cash prizes, and other non-monetary recognition for outstanding work.
The Fair is affiliated with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world’s largest pre-college celebration of science. Held annually in May, the Intel ISEF brings together over 1,400 students from more than 40 nations to compete for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips, and the grand prize: a $50,000 college scholarship.
