Contest: High School Business Concept. George Washington Univ. Oct. 31, 2010

GW logoLevel: High School students in the Washington D.C. region. Important Dates: Orientation, October 23, 2010. Registration Deadline: October 31, 2010. Prize Money: High School students, $750 (first place)

PITCH GEORGE!

Pitch George, a program of the George Washington University, invites local Washington, D.C. high school students to present their business ideas,  get important feedback on the viability of the concept, and win start-up capital. This contest can provide excellent support for students seeking to build a business plan for an engineering innovation. The contest offers $750 for the high school first place prize.

GW’s Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence (CFEE) will help individuals with strong proposals refine their ideas into solid business plans to compete in the GW Business Plan Competition in the spring of 2011, where the first place winner receives $20,000.

How it Works:

Teams and individuals who are part of the GW community at large, including graduate and undergraduate and local high school students, can participate.

The judges will evaluate how clearly each presentation communicates the idea, and how viable is the business idea.

The three best entries in each tier — graduate, undergraduate, and high school — will proceed to the semi-final round of judging, which will take place in a Duques Hall Room 650. Later that day, finalists will have 3 minutes to make
their pitch in an elevator. Judges will determine the ranking of finalists in each tier: first, second and third place winners.

The three winners in each tier will receive seed funding from CFEE to start up their businesses.
