Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship

The Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship Program was developed to demonstrate Xerox’s strong commitment to providing financial support and meaningful experiences for minorities. Scholarships are available to minorities enrolled in a technical degree program at the bachelor level or above.

The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society has several scholarships available to sophomore and junior undergraduate TMS student members.
The Engineering Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi, awards over 200 scholarships every year to engineering students. The scholarships are based upon high scholarship, campus leadership and service, and promise of future contributions to the engineering profession.
StraightForward Media’s offers four different $500 scholarships a year exclusively to students attending or planning to enroll in a post-secondary engineering program in the United States or abroad.
The Women in Engineering Workshop (WIE) allows high school freshman/sophomore/junior women, who are academically talented in mathematics and/or science, the opportunity to investigate careers in engineering and science. Practicing women engineers from industry and the government, educators, and university faculty lead informational sessions and discussions. Each session includes sessions in ten engineering fields, a laboratory experience, a team engineering project, and time to interact formally and informally with role models and talented peers.
Specifically targeting students from populations underrepresented in engineering and science fields (minority or economically disadvantaged students), the Explorations in Engineering Workshop allows high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors the opportunity to investigate college options and careers in these fields. Practicing minority engineers from industry and the government, educators, and university faculty lead informational sessions and discussions. Each session includes sessions in ten engineering fields, a laboratory experience, a team engineering project, and time to interact formally and informally with role models and talented peers.
The SET Go Girl camp is a one-day workshop for High School girls held every November on the South Dakota State University Campus. During the workshop the students will interact with professional women from industry as well as with professors and students from SDSU. The goals of this workshop are to introduce participants to engineering, math, and science through a highly dynamic program of hands-on activities suited to high school age students. Professional women from industry are a key part of this workshop designed to help students decide how to focus their interests into a college major and a career.
Engineering Expo is help April 25, 2008 in the Frost Arena at South Dakota State University. Regional high school students, teachers, college students and the general public are invited to the campus to view booths showcasing the Senior Design Projects, society and club displays, and area industry diplays. High school and college students are given the opportunity to particpate in various contests and win exciting prizes.
SAE is proud to be able to offer a number of scholarships to qualified students who are interested in the study of engineering and related sciences. These scholarships are made possible by the support of the corporate and academic community.
