Contest: Science and Engineering, WA

Registration cost: $5.00 per student. Entry deadline: April 3, 2010 (East side),  April 23 (West side).

The Washington Science Teachers Association (WSTA) invites students grades K-12 to participate in the WSTA Science and Engineering Contest to be held Sat., May 1, 2010 for the west side and Sat., April 10, 2010 for the east side. Students must be physically present at the event to compete.

Students may enter one or more of several individual contests,  which include “Rat Race,””Biomass,” “Bridge Building,” “Bridge Building,” “Chemistry,”  “Flight,” and others. Please check the Website for more information, rules, and procedure.

Contest preparation begins January 4, 2010; entry forms with $5 per student entry fee must be postmarked no later than April 3, 2010 for the East side contest and no later than April 23, 2010 for the West side contest. Due to the overcrowded conditions that existed last year, registrations for the east side contest will be open to east side residents only.

NOTE: ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL BE $10.00 PER PERSON.
