The Science of Winter, from the National Science Digital Library, is a collection of activities, lessons, interactives, images, and other content illustrating or demonstrating scientific aspects of winter  conditions, processes, or phenomena, appropriate for middle school, informal education, and general audiences.

Why does ice have ripples, and how is wind chill determined? What makes a car more difficult to start in cold weather? NSDL’s materials help teachers  their classes find intrigue in winter. After reading an article from Popular Mechanics, students may even learn how to win their next snowball fight with better strategy and snow tech.
