And they have just launched an Online K-12 Engineering Education (OKEE) Certificate Program to empower K-12 educators to bring hands-on engineering to their students.

Along with free activity guides for its signature JVInvenTeams innovation contest for students in grades 7 to 10,,the Lemelson-MIT Program is presenting three-day summer workshops this summer designed to help teachers encourage middle and high school students to think and act like inventors while developing solutions to real world problems.

Whether it’s a school garden or national park, the natural world offers a great way to encourage inquiry and STEM learning. To support the integration of Greening STEM into current or new programs, the National Environmental Education Foundation is offering grants of up to $1,000 to teachers, after-school programs, and nature organizations. Apply by April 5, 2016.
Innovation, STEM, and Intellectual Property is the theme for the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s 3rd Annual National Summer Teacher Institute, to be held July 17-22, 2016 at Michigan State University. Some 50 K-12 teachers from across the country will be selected to participate in this professional development and training program. Apply by March 15.
Ever wonder who sets STEM education policy – or yearn to influence it? Apply to become an Einstein Fellow and spend a year at the Department of Energy, National Science Foundation, NASA, NOAA, or a congressional office.
The Allen Distinguished Educators award program recognizes innovative K-12 teachers who “break the mold” and help students become thinkers, makers, and creators through computer science, engineering, and entrepreneurship. Applications for the $25,000 award are due November 1, 2015.
