“PreK-12 Capacity Building through Community of Practice

Purdue University is pleased to announce a new and interdisciplinary summit on Preschool-12 (P-12) Engineering and Design Education Research. We invite researchers, teachers, policy makers, and engineers to submit proposals for the summit that will be held on August 11-13, 2010. The conference is designed to be a “catalyst for combining scientific argumentation and collaboration that would enhance research in P-12 engineering education.” The interdisciplinary approach will link research, teaching, policy, and engineering practice. Our theme is “PreK-12 Capacity Building through Community of Practice.”

If your proposal is accepted, you are invited to the P-12 Summit and we will provide registration fees, lodging, and meals (Transportation is excluded). Teachers can submit a proposal until February 11, 2010. Please see details and guidelines on submission on the website.

Research During the Conference

During the conference, an ethnographic study will be conducted to study the state of our current knowledge base and the nature of interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration. If you attend the Summit, you will be asked to participate in this study.

Please check the website for details and updated information.
