Deadline Approaching: Award for Elementary School Teachers

sc_nov09_covThe Sylvia Shugrue Award for Elementary School Teachers honors an “elementary school teacher who has established (or is establishing) an interdisciplinary, inquiry-based lesson plan. The lesson plan will fully reference sources of information and any relevant National Science Education Standards and benchmarks found in the Atlas of Science Literacy.”

In order to be eligible, you must be a full-time elementary school teacher (grades K–6) with a minimum of five years of experience. The winner receives $1,000, along with up to $500 to attend the National Science Teachers Association‘s National Conference on Science Education, at which the winner is honored.

The deadline to apply is NOVEMBER 30, 2009. The application is downloadable.
